Our Old Farmhouse !

November 16, 2009 - 9:31 am Mindy Gold - It strikes me that these pictures truly capture the way our memories of childhood work: that flashback to a favorite pair of shoes, the "no-front-teeth" moment, the sweet softness of little hands, the pleasure of berry collecting, the absolute thrill of your parents playing hide and seek with you. The photographer is truly gifted at catching these moments without even seeming as if he were there. The photos are so natural and intimate--and yet so beautifully composed and lit, even when everyone's in joyous motion! And love the music with the needle scratching...took me back to my childhood!

November 15, 2009 - 10:54 pm Marissa H - These pictures came out great! They really tell a story. Enjoy.

November 15, 2009 - 10:44 pm Sarah DiIorio - Love the photos! They really capture fun and family! The vibrant contrast of the fall foliage make the colors pop. The black and white really captures simple beauty. Great work!

You not only captured one of the happiest days in their lives, but the emotion and vocabulary that you produced from myself and others who have viewed this "sneak-peek" is incredible. These photos alone can only be explained in a simple word; awe. This day was captured with your talent, the blessed beings, and wonderful vibe of every individual that suppported the wonderful couple. I cannot wait to see the remaining photos of the extravaganza through your talented eyes! You are fabulous Ken..well Beth and Noah too!

October 25, 2009 - 11:56 am Barbara Stadelberger - These are outstanding! I cannot wait for the pictures to be ready for purchase. I have no idea how I will choose the ones I want considering how wonderful the preview has been. You captured the joy and fun that everyone had that day. Thanks for making it so special on film so we will not forget the feelings we had that very special day. - Mom of the Bride

Once again thank you so much.

October 24, 2009 - 12:43 pm Paul Stadelberger - Ken, These are great! Thank you for capturing every moment of the beautiful day. Each photo gets better than the last one. Thank you for all your hard work.

October 24, 2009 - 8:08 am Sarah DItomasso - Ken, you are amazing! These really came out beautiful! Sorry for getting in the way to fix the dress so much, LOL!

October 23, 2009 - 11:03 pm Beth Ramos - Ken, I couldn't be happier! I have tears building seeing these photos. I love them all but some of my favorites include the picture of my parents laughing together, the father daughter dance, my grandfather and I, Noah's family cheering, our pre-ceremony meeting and especially Noah outside with the girls peeking out the window at him. They make me cry and laugh all at the same time, just as I was walking down the aisle. You are an amazing talent, and I am the luckiest bride in the world to have been blessed with wonderful people around me, including you!

October 23, 2009 - 10:45 pm Jamil Walker - Kenneth, I'm in awe of your work. The photos of Beth and Noah's wedding are amazing. I want to get married just so you can document the ceremony!

January 19, 2009 - 8:27 pm Sjoerd - Hi Ken, Just a short email to say thank you for yesterdays workshop. The whole thing gave me a lot of ideas en inspiration regarding my photography. When my daughters were born I shot a lot of (pretty good) pictures, but over the course of the last couple of years my career took my attention away from taking pictures. The workshop helped me sort of rediscover my passion, and catch up with the latest developments at the same time. I thought it was great the way you talked about how you approached a shoot and interacted with the children and the situation. The Lightroom demonstration gave me a much better idea of how to work with the software I use (Lightzone). I also decided to completely reorganize my old photo's in a rigorous way (using Digikam, like iPhoto but for linux). And finally..... I picked up my camera this morning, put my 50mm (=75mm) 1.8f lens on, removed the UV filter, opened up aperture wide and set iso to 400, and shot these nice pictures of my girls playing nintendo in the morning light by the window. http://www.schalekamp.com/20090119.html THANKS AGAIN KEN ! --Sjoerd
